Five on Friday

I have been a complete slacker the last two weeks in just about every aspect of my life. I've enjoyed myself though, not even gonna lie. I didn't participate in this link up last week so I'm bending the rules and this Five on Friday will include the last two weeks!
Went to five rounds last Monday and it was fabulous. This was also the only workout I completed in the past two weeks.

My cousins rehearsal dinner was awesome! The Panthers and VT mascots showed up! How cool is that?

The wedding day was perfection. The weather couldn't have been better and it all went flawlessly.

(Pictures from the wedding to come I promise!)

Girl Scout cookies.... Finally got mine from my niece on Sunday and I've almost finished a box of Samoas. I swear there is crack in them.

The weather yesterday was amazing! We took the dogs on a walk and discovered that cupcake likes to go on walks too.

That white blob on the left is cupcake, and obviously Tyler and Roxy were deep in conversation haha.

So yes while I failed on working out and eating right it was a damn good two weeks!!

P90x3 Week Three

Week three was off to a bang! Tyler dragged my butt to the gym on Sunday and kicked it.

It was awesome! We spent two hours working out and this chick burned 733 calories. Which in my world means I didn't feel guilty about the cocktail I had later that night. The best part about it was the fact that only about 20 min of that 2 hours was cardio. The rest of the time was spent on weight training and I loved it. It's actually fun lifting weights and having Tyler there to make sure I'm doing it right makes a difference as well. I'll admit I left the gym feeling like I was going to puke but yes, it was worth it. We also pushed and did the P90 workout when we got home. So 2.5 hours of working out.... Heck yeah.

Now the P90 workouts were the same again and I've decided I hate Isometrics. I'm not sure why but I just do. It's like yoga but suckier. I'm still totally in to the CVX workout, it's 30 minuets of doing a twisting, jumping, stretching workout while holding a weight the entire time. I'm only using a 3lb weight which sounds wimpy, but trust me, hold even a 3lb weight and swinging it around for 30 minuets makes it feel like a 20 lb rock.

I'll also admit that the Friday workout didn't happen again this week. We did go to the gym on Saturday but only stayed for 30 minuets. Tyler has a sinus infection and I just felt blah. We did something right in those 30 minuets though because on Sunday my triceps were sore (yay).

I'm excited for the workouts being different this week, and since I have a hair appointment tonight I'm planning on going to 9 rounds on my lunch. I know I'm not sticking to the P90 plan exactly but I figure as long as I'm working out 5-6 days a week I'm doing something right.

Week 4 lets do this!

Five on Friday

First week of March is over.... that's crazy. Weren't we just celebrating New Years? Oh well, that means we're one step closer to spring so I'm ok with it.

1. Cupcake the cat.
Why is the animal that doesn't like me in my favorite things this week? Because today is his birthday. This handsome little bed hog is 1 today.

Which means he is no longer a kitten! I bought him grown up cat food last weekend and it broke my heart a little bit. There is now no babies living in our house, and I'll admit, it makes me sad.

2. The gym.
I'll talk more about this when I do my week 3 P90x3 recap on Monday. But the long story short is I went with Tyler for the first time in months on Sunday and I beasted it out! I loved it and can't wait to go back with him tomorrow.

3. CVS 20% off
I finally caved and gave them my email address a few months ago and suddenly realized that I was getting a 20% off coupon that goes directly on my CVS card every other week. I now only let myself go to CVS when I have one of those babies loaded on my card. I can drop $50 in CVS without even meaning to, so 20% off helps a little in that area.

4. Spark
I've been battling signing up with Advocare for a while and finally just did it a week or so ago and got my distributors package in the mail on Tuesday which included samples of Spark. And I'm officially hooked. Its awesome when my 3pm nap attach hits at work. After I chug it I'm good for the rest of the day. Now I'll admit the Mango Strawberry flavor isn't my favorite but it's worth choking down for the energy. When I buy more I'm definitely gonna try out the fruit punch, and I'll let you know how it goes.

5. Cut The Fat Weight Loss Blog podcast
I've been listening to old podcasts while at work and it helps the day go a little faster and I'm also learning a lot which is good. Check out their website/podcast if you get a chance!

Happy almost weekend everyone!!!  A few more hours then its party time!!

But I'm Not Catholic

During Lent many of the faithful commit to fasting or giving up certain types of luxuries as a form of penitence. (from Wikipedia)

I am not Catholic, but I do attempt to give up something I really love every year just because it feels like the right thing to do.

What am I giving up this year?

Candy..... While I honestly would rather give up something else, there it is, number 40 on my list of 101 things: Give up candy for Lent. And since this list is supposed to be done in September, this is my last chance to give up candy for Lent.

Real quick, can we talk about how dumb number 41 is? I can't change that I have 4 year old hand writing no matter how hard I try. That one was a fail as soon as I wrote it down.

This means no M&M's, no snickers, no Sour Patch Kids, no Reese Cups, etc. Just thinking about it is making me want to cry. I haven't been eating a lot of candy recently, but the thought of not being able to have it makes me want it even more (isn't that how it always works?). I am also adding chocolate chips to that list because I have a bad habit of eating a handful of them every night because there is a mason jar of them in my fridge that calls out to me every time I open it up.

Here's to hoping I can tough this out and do better then the year I gave up Starbucks and ended up addicted to Caribou Coffee instead.

40 days of no sugary goodness starts now.... and yes I ate 2 handfuls of chocolate chips last night to prepare myself for this journey.

What are you giving up??

P90x3 Week Two

Week two was a fail in my book.

Fridays workout wasn't completed and I'm still feeling bad about it. I had planned on doing Friday's workout on Saturday but due to some drama made up completely by me and my anxiety I spent the day alone shopping instead.

The workouts were exactly the same as week one which I liked because I'm getting the moves down better so I'm not just standing there for half the time going "what the hell?". I'm still not excited about not burning as many calories as I was at 9rounds though, and I'm contemplating starting 9rounds back and going 3 days a week on top of the P90 workouts. I do believe I'll try that this week and see how it goes. Because of the snow the owners said I could have a week free (yay).

The dogs enjoyed the workouts this week though. Roxy got used as a yoga mat by Tyler and Zoey helped me do side arm planks.

I am keeping track of my calories burned, etc. I really hope that the next round kicks it into high gear because this chick wants to burn more calories!!

Eating this week didn't go very well either. We had a birthday at the office which meant I made cupcakes which meant I ate one a day three days in a row.... oops.
This week will be better.

March Goals

February seemed to fly by, but at the same time it seemed like it lasted forever? Weird right.
And reviewing my goals for the month I'm realizing I evidently forgot about them the day after I wrote them...

  • Make Tyler's 30th birthday the best day ever - I did succeed at this. We went to all of his favorite stores (Gander Mountain, Dicks, Barnes and Noble), grabbed drinks at Brixx and then had an awesome dinner at my parents house. So yes, I nailed this one.
Us and the nieces and cousin

Mom and Tyler, it's kinda silly how much they like each other

Brother in law, cousin Ellis, and hubby
  • 9rounds 5x a week for the first two weeks (my membership runs out the 14th so I need to go every day until then) - nailed it the first week... the second week of February though was Snowpocolypse which means the gym was closed half of the week.
  • Clean up my diet - Eh...
  • Start P90x3 with Tyler after 9rounds is done - YES! You can read my week one review here
  • Write more - I guess this is true, I posted more then once.
  • Get rid of the junk in the pink room/garage/house in general. Its amazing how much crap we have accumulated in just 2.5 years in this house - Nope, it's still a wreck. My excuse is that it gets really cold in that room so I've had no desire to even go in there.
  • Keep up with the saving/killing debt plan - Yep!
  • See my friends/socialize with people other then my family - Yeah I failed at this. I did spend an amazing saturday with my mom though out shopping which is a big step. And we did run into a friend and chatted for a while so baby steps right?
  • Work on 101 in 1001 things (I'm thinking I won't be able to finish this by September this year which is the technical deadline, so instead of feeling like a failure I'm going to keep it up and make it my 101 before 30 list) - didn't check even one thing off. I actually haven't even pulled the list out of my planner in the last month. Fail Rebekah, fail.
Whats planned for March:
  • Keep up with P90x3, like every day, every workout.
  • Start a Advocare 24 day cleanse
  • Enjoy my cousins wedding (aka don't stress out, just enjoy it!)
  • Clean up my diet for real (as Tyler is sitting here making the grocery list and just wrote down cookies)
  • Go to Trader Joe's (I've never been and want to go)
  • Clean out/wash my car (she is gross... like gross)
  • Work on my blog layout, add my facebook link, insta, advocare link
I can't think right now, which is why that is the lamest list ever. But maybe I'll actually do the stuff since its a short list. We'll see.
