Christmas Card Outtakes

Thanks to my sweet cousin Katie who takes our Christmas card pictures every year, I got the photo CD this year and she thankfully left some fun outtakes for us to see. From what I remember, there were a LOT more but the ones below basically sum up how most of the pictures we took that day probably looked (trying to get Tyler and I to be serious is tough work). Thankfully she was able to capture a few "normal" pictures as well for me to choose from for our cards.

Me Grace Facing (just google it if you dont know what it is) while Tyler goes old school Al Bundy

We just love each other so much

This is what happens when he picks me up when I'm not prepared.

Merry Christmas

From our family to yours, Merry Christmas!!

Yes I know the cat is missing from the card this year. I couldn't find a picture I liked where he didn't look like he was thinking "I hate you" in it. He is a jerk and knows it. But for those of you who asked about the cat...

Back at it

Tonight I will be eating a bowl of ice cream for dinner because after that..... it's on.

Tomorrow I'm going to the gym for the first time since September 19th.

I'm terrified.

They are going to kick my butt and I'm not even gonna lie, I'll probably cry while I'm there.

But this time I have no excuses.
I don't have stomach pain so I can't use that as an out anymore, and working out will help my anxiety. So saying "I can't go because I'm anxious" is a load of BS.

I'm ready to get in the best shape of my life.
I'm ready to feel better.
I'm ready to do something good for myself.

Wish me luck!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday y'all! This has been one of the longest weeks ever so the fact that it's Friday is just YAY!

1. I got to spend last weekend in one of my favorite places in the world. The Billy Grahmn Training Center - The Cove. I'm sad that it is the last year the women's retreat will be held there but I soaked in every moment.

2. Another thing I loved was spending the weekend with my mom and sister. Baucom girls time is my favorite. I love the family that God blessed me with.

3. I came home to a sick husband but he still managed to clean the entire house (he even washed the curtains!). I hate to brag but I've got a good one.

4. We finally have fall weather! I complained last week because it hasn't really felt like fall here in the Queen City, but the past week has been amazing. I'm loving the mid 60's low 70's weather!

5. Pumpkin spice coffee creamer. I don't think this needs an explanation.

Hope everyone had an amazing week. And here's to a great weekend!

Dear North Carolina,

Get your act together please, I think you might be drunk.

The weather the past week has been ridiculous and my sinus' and wardrobe are over it.

80 and sunny on Saturday, cold and rainy on Sunday, back to the 80's on Monday and then tornado warnings yesterday? It's like we're in the weather twilight zone.

In the past week I've worn flip flops, rain boots, and Uggs.

Come on fall weather. I'm ready for ya! Sweaters, boots and scarves OH MY!

We all know I'm not a fashion blogger (like not even a little bit), but here are some fall looks I'm loving. And don't get excited, the actuality of me trying/pulling off any of these looks is zero to none.... All of these looks are from girls/stores I stalk follow on Instagram. Check them out for actual fashion advice.

Fingers crossed we will see some real fall weather here in Charlotte soon! But until then I'm spending a long weekend in the mountains where I can wear sweaters without sweating my butt off.

So what are some of your favorite fall looks??

Five on Friday

Let's get back in the swing of things with a good ole' link up! Happy Friday y'all!

1. I cried over macaroni this week... I haven't had Mac and cheese since September 22 (yes I know the date) and in my world that's an issue. Well Wednesday night Tyler made it for me and I cried. I could only have half a serving to stay within my total fat limit for the day. But omg it was good !

2. I scored some major deals at Target this week. Chambray shirt for $7, flannels for $15 and a pair of jeans for $19? Heck yeah

3. My oldest niece turned 9 this week. I repeat... she turned nine. I still remember getting the text from my sister while I was sitting in German class senior year saying "it's a girl". Where has time gone?!

4. Found a fun selfie that I evidently took on the way home from the hospital after my gallbladder surgery. Who doesn't love a good drug induced selfie that you don't remember taking? Cute right?

5. Last but not least... Just eww. This music video is life right now.

I'm so glad it's Friday but I'm also tired already just thinking about the next three weekends. We have something planned every day! Which is a good thing because I'll actually have things to write about!

Hope everyone has a fabulous day!

Goodbye Gallbladder

Last Wednesday Tyler and I woke up at 5 am  to get ready to head uptown for my Hida Scan.

If you know me, you know I've had "tummy troubles" for the last 8 or 9 years without any concrete diagnosis or relief. And I've finally had enough. After originally seeing my primary care Dr for daily headaches (turns out you can get addicted to Excedrin migraine in a hurry.... and the combination of rebound headaches/tension headache/migraine = me not being able to move almost every morning because my head hurt so bad). We got the headache situation mostly under control, but I also talked to her about my stomach issues and was immediately put on a gluten free diet and told to see a gastroenterologist.

Long story short, gluten free didn't do anything but help me loose a few lbs, and none of the medications I have been prescribed have fixed my issues. Being in pain/nauseated on a daily basis isn't the most fun thing to deal with.

The past month has included doctors appointments, blood work, an ultra sound, all of which came back normal.... Then finally last week, the Hida Scan.

I was given an injection of radioactive dye and shoved in a scan machine for over an hour. If the scan technician hadn't been so nice (I still need to write him a thank you card), and Tyler hadn't been able to stay in the room with me to hold my hand when needed, I probably would've had to have bee admitted to the psych ward. While the first part didn't hurt, my anxiety was in full swing.

Then came the second part.

He attached me to an IV, and back in the scanner I went. About 10 seconds in the pain started, and I'll admit by the end of the 30 minuet scan I was in tears.

The next day I received the call from my doctor. My gallbladder isn't doing it's job, and needs to come out. Finally an answer!

While I'm terrified to have surgery, I am thankful that I finally know there is actually something wrong and I'm not just crazy.

Now I just need to stop goggling and you-tubing "gallbladder surgery"......

I Still Don't Belive It

It still hasn't quite sunk in that I can stop stressing....

I can quit obsessing over googling for a "good area" with a Target and a PetSmart (priorities....).
I can delete my daily Zillow emails.
I can actually put some effort in to decorating our home again, instead of not caring because "we'll just have to pack it all up anyways" (it currently looks like we live in a bachelor pad).
I can stop dreading the thought of having to make Cupcake an indoor cat and the joy of cleaning a liter box.
No more worrying if Roxy is too big to be considered a "small dog" for a rental (no one wants to rent you a house if you have anything bigger then a Yorkie.... I think Zoey is even over the weight limit for some places)

Make sense yet? Probably not.

Long story short:

Last November we were told that we would have to relocate to Georgia for Tyler's job. They didn't tell us when exactly we would have to move, only that they would give us a 1-2 month notice. I cried a lot, my sister cried a lot, and I'm pretty sure my mom has cried too. And then there's my dad who would randomly look at me and say "do you want me to make you cry, because I can" (referring to me possibly living more then 30 miles away from them).

Needless to say, I've been on edge ever since.

But all of that stress is officially over! My prayers have been answered....

We don't have to move!! We get to stay in Charlotte!!

I always thought the post I'd write about this would involve a picture of the "Welcome to GA" sign and a melodramatic paragraph about being on to "bigger and better things". But nope!

Sorry North Carolina, the Foley's are staying put.

Now I might actually start writing again instead of spending all of my free time on Zillow, Google, and City-Data.

I forgot to add the response I got from my sister when I told her we weren't moving

She works at our church and I still think she should've yelled "hallelujah!" But whatever!!

50 Shades of Lame

This was basically my face the entire time I was watching the 50 Shades of Grey trailer.

I am just not feeling Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey. Don't get me wrong, he is a good looking dude, and I had high hopes when they first announced that he was cast as Grey (I thought he was such a better choice then Charlie Hunnam!). But for some reason he just didn't come across as "50 shades..." in the trailer.

But will I still see the movie?  You bet your sweet ass I will.

Will I feel completely uncomfortable the entire time I'm watching it? You know that's right!

Is my sister ashamed that I'm even talking about 50 Shades Of Grey? Probably!! (sorry sis)

Fingers crossed the movie is better then the trailer.....

Also, why do I feel like a lot of babies will be born around the beginning of November next year?

I'm Still Alive

I've started writing this post maybe 50 times and just can't figure out exactly what to write.

I haven't posted in over three months and I honestly don't know why I haven't. I haven't been too busy or anything, I just can't write lately and it breaks my heart. Every time I get an email from my domain host about a sale on renewing, updates, etc I'm reminded that I own this little slice of the internet and I'm doing absolutely nothing with it.

Am I going to start writing regularly again? I don't know, I guess we'll see. I am working on a fun Pinterest project right now. Maybe I'll post about that.

Stay tuned.... Maybe?

Spreadin Germs

Tyler was sick all weekend and seeing that he is a good husband he shared whatever this nasty bug is with me.

I've been sneezing, coughing, blowing my nose, and clearing my throat for the past 3 days and I'm OVER IT!

I've taken enough cold medicine to put down a small horse and the worst part is the vicious cycle of cold medicine/sleep.

Take pills, pass out, wake up feeling like poop, take pills, pass out, wake up feeling like poop, etc, etc

Yes this is the most random blog post ever but I'm in between "take pills and pass out" and felt the need to write.

Hope you're week is going better then mine! I'm off to go lay back down with tissues shoved up my nose.

Five on Friday

I have been a complete slacker the last two weeks in just about every aspect of my life. I've enjoyed myself though, not even gonna lie. I didn't participate in this link up last week so I'm bending the rules and this Five on Friday will include the last two weeks!
Went to five rounds last Monday and it was fabulous. This was also the only workout I completed in the past two weeks.

My cousins rehearsal dinner was awesome! The Panthers and VT mascots showed up! How cool is that?

The wedding day was perfection. The weather couldn't have been better and it all went flawlessly.

(Pictures from the wedding to come I promise!)

Girl Scout cookies.... Finally got mine from my niece on Sunday and I've almost finished a box of Samoas. I swear there is crack in them.

The weather yesterday was amazing! We took the dogs on a walk and discovered that cupcake likes to go on walks too.

That white blob on the left is cupcake, and obviously Tyler and Roxy were deep in conversation haha.

So yes while I failed on working out and eating right it was a damn good two weeks!!

P90x3 Week Three

Week three was off to a bang! Tyler dragged my butt to the gym on Sunday and kicked it.

It was awesome! We spent two hours working out and this chick burned 733 calories. Which in my world means I didn't feel guilty about the cocktail I had later that night. The best part about it was the fact that only about 20 min of that 2 hours was cardio. The rest of the time was spent on weight training and I loved it. It's actually fun lifting weights and having Tyler there to make sure I'm doing it right makes a difference as well. I'll admit I left the gym feeling like I was going to puke but yes, it was worth it. We also pushed and did the P90 workout when we got home. So 2.5 hours of working out.... Heck yeah.

Now the P90 workouts were the same again and I've decided I hate Isometrics. I'm not sure why but I just do. It's like yoga but suckier. I'm still totally in to the CVX workout, it's 30 minuets of doing a twisting, jumping, stretching workout while holding a weight the entire time. I'm only using a 3lb weight which sounds wimpy, but trust me, hold even a 3lb weight and swinging it around for 30 minuets makes it feel like a 20 lb rock.

I'll also admit that the Friday workout didn't happen again this week. We did go to the gym on Saturday but only stayed for 30 minuets. Tyler has a sinus infection and I just felt blah. We did something right in those 30 minuets though because on Sunday my triceps were sore (yay).

I'm excited for the workouts being different this week, and since I have a hair appointment tonight I'm planning on going to 9 rounds on my lunch. I know I'm not sticking to the P90 plan exactly but I figure as long as I'm working out 5-6 days a week I'm doing something right.

Week 4 lets do this!

Five on Friday

First week of March is over.... that's crazy. Weren't we just celebrating New Years? Oh well, that means we're one step closer to spring so I'm ok with it.

1. Cupcake the cat.
Why is the animal that doesn't like me in my favorite things this week? Because today is his birthday. This handsome little bed hog is 1 today.

Which means he is no longer a kitten! I bought him grown up cat food last weekend and it broke my heart a little bit. There is now no babies living in our house, and I'll admit, it makes me sad.

2. The gym.
I'll talk more about this when I do my week 3 P90x3 recap on Monday. But the long story short is I went with Tyler for the first time in months on Sunday and I beasted it out! I loved it and can't wait to go back with him tomorrow.

3. CVS 20% off
I finally caved and gave them my email address a few months ago and suddenly realized that I was getting a 20% off coupon that goes directly on my CVS card every other week. I now only let myself go to CVS when I have one of those babies loaded on my card. I can drop $50 in CVS without even meaning to, so 20% off helps a little in that area.

4. Spark
I've been battling signing up with Advocare for a while and finally just did it a week or so ago and got my distributors package in the mail on Tuesday which included samples of Spark. And I'm officially hooked. Its awesome when my 3pm nap attach hits at work. After I chug it I'm good for the rest of the day. Now I'll admit the Mango Strawberry flavor isn't my favorite but it's worth choking down for the energy. When I buy more I'm definitely gonna try out the fruit punch, and I'll let you know how it goes.

5. Cut The Fat Weight Loss Blog podcast
I've been listening to old podcasts while at work and it helps the day go a little faster and I'm also learning a lot which is good. Check out their website/podcast if you get a chance!

Happy almost weekend everyone!!!  A few more hours then its party time!!
