Let's try this again

Seeing that I 100% failed at the February Photo A Day challenge
maybe March will be more successful?

I'm re-installing Blogger on my phone which might help

Don't hold your breath though

Just sayin

On a brighter note!
I have succeeded in one week beer free!
And in my world that's a big deal!
Only 32 more days (I think I did my math right on that one)

Basically it's Clean March for Bekah
I'm also going to TRY to eat better (cut down on dairy and gluten)
Try being the key word
And I did just realize something....
Since its a leap year, that added an extra day to lent right?
And how cute is the google header for leap year!?!

Sometimes and Always

Today I figured I'd link up with Meg at Mackey Madness

I've been MIA over the weekend and am still totally lost for what to blog about!

This is a great way to cure my blog block :)

Sometimes: I hate that we don't have internet at our house
Always: I'm thankful that I have a great Hubby and Puppy to entertain me instead of sitting with my computer in my lap 24/7

Sometimes: I really wish I knew how to cook
Always: I realize Tyler is a fabulous cook and there is no need for me to learn

Sometimes: It drives me nuts driving a 5 speed in traffic
Always: I get a rush being able to drive like a race car driver on the country roads near my house

Sometimes: Roxy makes me crazy when it's just us at home all day and she barks to go out every 5 minuets then doesn't even pee
Always: I'm so proud when she rings her "potty bell" to go out when she actually needs to go

Sometimes: I say I'm giving up dairy for good (i'm allergic)
Always: I end up at the grocery store buying a block of cheese for no reason

Sometimes: I say I'm done wasting money on Redbox because I always forget to return the movies
Always: I see a movie I just HAVE to see... then keep it for 2 weeks on accident

Puppy Love

So have I mentioned that Hubby is absolutely in LOVE with Roxy?

It's pretty stinkin cute

I'm glad he is such a good puppy-dad
I figure that means he'll be an even better baby-daddy (yup just said that)
At my parents watching the Super Bowl with Roxy and Casper in his lap

Learning how to "lay down"

Massive ears (we think she looks like fox because of her ears)
See what I mean?
Oh and don't google "fox ears" ... It's a bunch of random girls with fake fox ears on??

Giving "kisses"

She is learning really fast and it's mostly from Tyler working with her
They also have this routine called the "food dance"

I'll have to video it
Tyler dances around shaking her food container and Roxy jumps all over the place
For reals it's one of the funniest things ever

And if I try to do the "food dance" Roxy just stares at me because obviously I don't do it right

I'm already that lame mom....

Giving it up

Even though I'm not Catholic I try to give something up for Lent every year
Normally I last about week then give in to temptation
However this year I'm for real DETERMINED

This year my friends I'm giving up beer

Don't go thinking I'm a crazy alcoholic but I'll admit I really enjoy a nice cold beer after work

But it is adding to my waist line and taking away from my checking account

Just like my goal to not eat out for lunch while I'm at work to save $7 a day
Not drinking a beer (or two) will save money and an average of 200 calories a day

That adds up to money in my pocket to be spent on fun stuff like make up
And subtracts lbs on the old bathroom scale

Notice though I just said beer

This girl couldn't go a whole 40 days with out a margarita or a bottle glass of wine now and then!

Last beer for 40 days

You better believe I had three one too many last night
(Turbie Twist made another car ride appearance this morning, Roxy was scared to death)

Spoiled much?

I made the worst cup of coffee ever this morning
Which has resulted in feeling like a zombie all day
I'm spoiled by my Tassimo and running out of coffee for it never needs to happen ever again
Clearly I don't know how to use a normal coffee pot anymore

Seriously folks

So my plan was to make a switch of my awful coffee with good stuff at the parents house
My dad makes coffee that will make your chest hair grow and its wonderful

Usually when I get to my parents to drop Roxy off I'm greeted with the smell of yummy coffee
So I clutched my travel mug full of grossness and waltzed in only to find no parents and no coffee

I'll admit I was NOT happy
And seeing that I was running late (as usual), Starbucks wasn't an option

However I have forgiven the parental units but I hope this doesn't ever happen again

Girl needs her coffee fix!

Lunch Dates and Cupcakes

Since Hubby and I met we have been in a retail/restaurant relationship.
By that I don't been shopping and dinner dates
I wish that was the case
I mean we both work crazy hours, 6 or 7 day weeks, and have never had a weekend together
Unless you count our wedding weekend
But I'm proud to announce that Hubby starts a 8-5 job on Thursday!

I know I've already talked about it but I'm really excited!

This means lunch dates (on my days off during the week)
Yes this is actually us out to lunch one day....
NOT, we're much prettier then them :)

Visiting him in his office
In reality we don't quite know what his office will look like
This is what it looks like in my head but Hubby keeps saying it's probably just a glorified closet since he is the "new guy"

Making goodies for him to take to work so everyone will know what a good wife I am
I'd NEVER wear this apron but I googled "housewife making cake"

Weekend trips to the mountains with the puppy
Our dog is much cuter then this one.... just sayin

And lots of other exciting stuff!

The only problem is that I need a 8-5 job too....

So the hunt is on.
This 10-8, 6 days a week, never seeing the light of day stuff has got to stop.
I'm ready for us to be a "normal" married couple

whatever that means

Gah this post is awful haha, this blogging block going on in my head needs to stop

Turbie Twist Fashion

I'm excited it's valentines day but I'm not excited that Hubby and I are working.

We're going to do a nice dinner at home though tonight.
If I had to guess I'd say we'll be having steak, shrimp, mac, green peas, and bbq bread.
If you don't know what barbeque bread is, you're missing out!
Tyler is cooking of course so I won't know for sure until I get home....

So I promised something ridiculous today so here it is
Yup that was me in the car this morning on the way to drop Roxy off at my momma's.

My alarms started going off at 6:25 but this chick didn't get out of bed till 7.
Which meant QUICK shower, and no time for hair or make up.

The turbie twist didn't make it all the way to mom's but I got some funny looks driving.
At least my neighbors are used to me walking the dog with this on, so no funny looks there.

We had a meeting this morning for work and everyone was picking on me because
"obviously you're not a morning person"
no shit
So I curled up in a chair in the corner of the office,
and hightailed it out of there as soon as I could.
I had to make it to my store before open to put myself "together".
 Final result.
Hair/makeup "in check"!

I look somewhat presentable now!

Also to add, I'm getting really excited about Tyler starting his new job.
I'm off work his first day at the office so I've already promised him he'll come home to a clean house, dinner ready, and a housewife in the kitchen where she should be!
I'm totally kidding about the last part!
I'm sure that something will go awfully wrong and I'll end up burning whatever I attempt to cook.
But a girl can try!

I came across this video on 5ohwifey's blog and it hit me hard.

Abortions are something I am strongly against.
I've always felt that if my birth mother was strong enough at 16 years old to carry me to term.
Then give me up to a loving family that otherwise wouldn't have been able to have a second child, anyone can.

Abortion is not a form of birth control people.
It is murder.
Once there is a heart beat that child has a soul and is meant to be in this world.

Yes it's a long video but totally worth the watch.
I'm so thankful everyday that I was lucky enough to not be one of those 53+ million "unwanted" babies. You can say it is right to be "pro choice because of different situations" but there are plenty of families out there who would LOVE a baby but can't have one, and wouldn't care what gender/race/situation that life comes from.
I will say though, I think that adoption needs to be more affordable.
There are too many children without homes simply because people cant afford all of the legal fees....
Ok my rant is over...
This is just something that has been and always will be something I feel very strongly about.

Man two serious posts in a row... what in the world is going on with me!
Sorry guys
Tomorrow will be about something absolutely ridiculous I promise :)

The B word

I'm not even gonna lie I'm failing at this blogging stuff.
Working 6 days a week isn't helping my case.

This is going to be a serious post because it's something that is really bugging me right now.
The dreaded B word...
No not that B word...

Hubby and I are working our tails off to get out of debt and save money.
Between student loans, bad credit card decisions in years past, my bright idea to buy a brand new car when I was 20 (car payments are the worst thing ever), and other things, we're broke!

Not in a "we can't pay our power bill this month" broke,
but in a "I can't go to Target and buy anything I want" broke.

We finally have decided that we need to get serious about saving money and I'll admit it is kinda scary putting this out in the open.
Everyone these days tries to act like they're doing great when in reality, most people are struggling to make ends meet.
I don't want to get to that point where we can't even pay our bills, like so many families are.

We agreed to no longer use any credit cards for ANYTHING.
Instead of using our tax refund to buy new furniture (which I'd personally LOVE to do) we're using it to pay off some debt then putting the rest in savings.
We're cutting back on frivolous spending
(a.k.a. redbox movies we keep for a week and never watch, random makeup that I just HAVE TO HAVE but never use, beer for random Wednesday nights that does not need to happen seeing that I'm trying to lose weight anyways, etc)
And the hardest part for me.....
We're going to use coupons for as much of our grocery/cleaning/bathroom stuff as possible.

I love the act of buying my 4 papers a week and cutting them out and organizing them in my cute little coupon binder.
I hate trying to figure out how to use them.
I'm awful at it.
For example I was all determined to go to the grocery store and use my coupons.
Instead I went to a different grocery store that was 2 minuets closer to the house and didn't use one coupon AND ended up getting a movie from redbox which I said I wouldn't do anymore.
See I'm awful at it.

Some goals I've laid out for February are as follows:
  1. Add $500 to our savings (including what comes from tax refund)
  2. Start the Snowball debt payoff program (from Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover book)
  3. Use coupons for every grocery store trip (already failed on that one)
  4. Take lunch to work everyday instead of buying out
We can and will succeed at this!
We gotta be able to somewhat afford to have babies at some point :)

Happy Birthday!

Today is Hubby's birthday!!
I feel bad that he is working all day, and so am I
I think we'll celebrate this weekend
Im determined to make him dinner one night this week!

So last year was his second birthday as my man but the first together that we actually got to celebrate.
Remember we dated on the DL until May of 2010
SOOO I went all out last year
I also tied balloons to his side mirrors and made him wear a "birthday boy" button at work
(I made sure his employees knew he had to wear it all day)

Tyler was NOT happy
He hates being the center of attention and I made damn sure he was in the spotlight

I promised I wouldnt do anything like that this year
He better watch out though
When he turns 30 it's on
Ive got 2 years to plan so it's going to be EPIC

A blue tounge is very professional

I'm so glad I'm having to re-write this whole post because I hit the back button on accident and it erased all of my hard work..... EPIC FAIL!

So in my neck of the woods we well I call any remote a button
Que Day 7: Button
And seeing that I'm wearing nothing with buttons on it today
YAY for stretchy pants
This is what I came up with
It is a button to one of the adjustable beds here at work...

In other news
This sweet little doll face angle baby puked in mommy's car on the way to Nanna's this morning
This was after the puke and I feel like she is saying "mom I hate this"
Usually if she pukes she doesnt do it till were almost at my parents house
This morning though she got herself so worked up before she even got in the car she puked right as we were pulling out of our neighborhood
Mind you we're the first house on the block....
I feel so bad for her!
The vet said to give her benadryl but that seems crazy to do every morning
Once Hubby starts his new job he will be getting up earlier in the am so hopefully we will wake up with him and she will have a chance to wake up and calm down before we get in the car
This morning I literally had to drag her out of her crate as I'm rushing to leave the house on time
And she immediately started drooling like a raccoon with rabies
Bless her little heart
Oh and mom made me wipe her (Roxy not my mother) down with vinegar once we got to her house
According to mom "the bacteria from her drooling will make her smell!"
But vinegar smells good??

Also I decided it was a bad idea to bring a blue air head to work
Cute huh?
Next time it's Mystery flavor for me

Our Love Story- Link Up

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
2 years and 4 months
2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
Short version... I started working at Ruby Tuesday in August
Tyler was one of the managers but I thought he was really cute
He tricked me into asking him for his number one night before I left
We dated for 7 months on the DL while we still worked together
I quit Ruby Tuesday, on my last night he asked me out in front of the whole staff
I couldn't say no haha
He proposed in September of 2010
3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}
It will be 5 months on the 24th :)
4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?
We got married in Charlotte (where Ive lived my whole life)
It was a big wedding... 273 guests to be exact!
5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
We don't really have nicknames for each other, is that bad?
6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
1. He cooks... yes it sounds silly but I'd starve if it wasnt for him, no joke
2. He makes me laugh everyday, even if he doesnt mean to :)
3. He always puts everyone else first. He is the most giving person I've ever met. No lie he would give you the shirt off his back if you really needed it, no questions ask and he wouldnt expect anything in return.
7. Tell us how he proposed?
On the couch in his old apartment, on our one year anniversary.
 It was perfect
8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
An in between, he gets me flowers a lot which are really sweet and he is super romantic too and would totally do strawberries and champagne
9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
Movie in and relax on the couch, I'm such a homebody
10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
Ireland and France
11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
Nothing crazy, probably just dinner at home
12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Smooches, It's hard to be mad if you're kissing.
Always kiss each other "bye" in the morning and before bed.
I know its simple but I think that gesture of love is huge in a relationship.
14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.
This was probably one of the best days ever
Its not a good picture of either one of us but It's one of my favorites.

Oh side note... I have no idea if I did this link up right, Ive never done one before....

February photo

Day 6: Dinner

Yes its all carbs and im ok with that. Were celebrating!!

Exciting news!

So exciting news in the Foley house hold!

No we're not pregnant (a puppy is plenty of work).

Tyler got a new job!

I'm so excited/happy/grateful/etc...

He will have "normal" hours Monday-Friday.

Weekends off and vacation time!

I'm so proud of my Hubby, he deserves this big time!

Yup this guy is gonna have his own office....

Haha he would for real die if he saw this online.

Its from a trip to the mountains to visit his parents and he found his old BB gun and was feeling macho.... After this we shot real guns and he did this...
Shot a petal off a flower from about 30 yards.

What can I say my man is a good shot!

This post is totally going off the point haha, all I really wanted to say was how proud of my Hubby I am!!

Happy Monday everyone :)

Sunday, February 5, 2012

Tyler would kill me if he knew I was posting this

Day 5: 10am

This is what 10am looked like from my eyes.
The puppy woke up around 9:30 (amazed she slept in that long!)
So hubby took her out to pee then put her in bed with us.
(normally he is headed to work so I get snuggle time with her alone)
This morning though Tyler had off work so he got back in bed :)
They both fell back asleep till about 10:15 and that's when I had to drag my butt out of bed to get ready for work.
Moments like this are treasured in our house.
We NEVER get to sleep in together, stupid retail/restaurant jobs.

Oh and yes, Roxy has on a necklace.... it's not even worth explaining haha.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone!

<3 B

Saturday, February 4, 2012

Ok so last post of the day I promise.

Man 3 in one day, what is wrong with me?!

Anyways this is my Day 4 picture

The"stranger" is leaned up against the front window of my store..
He stood there for about 2 minuets looking in at me and it was very creepy.
Then he propped himself up against my window.
Then it hit me, STRANGER!
So i took the best picture I could....

101 things

In the past week I've marked off a few things on the 101 Things list!

74. Bake and decorate cupcakes
No they're not the prettiest things in the world but they were yummy and that's all that counts!

96. Cut my own hair
No I don't have a picture of this but I just trimmed it. Nothing major but proud none the less!

99. Wear clip in hair for a day

Yes those were taken before I got dressed for the day.
And don't mind the lack of decoration in my den, or the bunny ears for the tv, or the zebra snuggie....

Also how come I edited the pictures on photobucket and when I upload them to here, unedited?
It's driving me nuts but I'm too lazy to mess with it...

Day 3 on day 4

Yup I messed up and didn't post this yesterday.
To be honest I wanted a picture of Tylers hand with mine so I waited till after work to take the picture and I hate blogging from my phone so I'm posting it now.

Day 3: Hands
These are the hands of our little family :)

Hope everyone enjoys their Saturday!

Photo Challenge Day 2

Day two of the photo challenge is "Words"
Not quite sure what I was supposed to do for that but this is what I came up with

It is the last page of Mockingjay which I read on my Ipad.

I still can't believe that it took me so long to discover the Hunger Game series but I'm glad I did.
The books were amazing and I'm so excited for the movies now!

In other news:
I had a mini melt down at work today over something stupid.
Hubby called and calmed me down and ended the conversation by saying,
"You know this happened because you're on your period right?"
Which made me laugh through my tears as I agreed.
Yup I'll admit it, I get overly emotional this time of the month and everyone knows it.
