Like From a Turkey

When I got the mail today there was box for Hubby....
Of course since it had his name on it I didn't open it

When he got home he got all excited and said it was one of my Christmas presents!

Well Hubby has a problem keeping secrets from me....
So after dinner he told me he couldn't wait any longer and wanted to give me my present NOW
He got me a wishbone necklace!!!

If you knew my husband you'd know that before today he has given me a total of 2 pieces of jewelry
I'm wearing them both on my left hand
He just isn't a big jewelry guy
So the fact that he got me this necklace is a HUGE deal!
He made me close my eyes and put it on me and as soon as I felt it on my neck I was squealing!
Once I looked at saw what it was he explained that he got the wishbone because:
  1. I'm his "wish come true"
  2. He cooks a lot and its a wishbone "like from a turkey"
I love that he added the "like from a turkey" part because just saying I'm his wish come true would be too sappy

Then he added "Merry early Christmas and happy period"
Yup it's that lovely time on the month which means Bekah is in full bitch mode so I guess he felt like an early Christmas present would help smooth the waters and shut me up for a while (it totally worked)
And he is now in his man room watching a movie while I play on my computer in peace and quiet
(again great decision for hell week... just stay out of my way)

In other words
I have the best husband ever!

Couponing Sunday

Tyler actually went shopping yesterday because we had a family reunion to go to today
(which we ended up talking about couponing at)
He did really well too and we actually ended up giving away some of his haul!
(he got some stuff for free and it's not something we eat so why not give it away?)

This picture doesn't do the haul justice but it was really funny
But he got soup, juice, creamer, veggies, meat, noodle meals, peanut butter, milk, soda, pasta, cornbread mix, cheese... etc
Before savings it was almost $200
After savings/coupons it was $107

No we don't save 90% or anything crazy like on TV but 50% is pretty good in my book

Happy Sunday everyone!

Christmas Pictures

So today I subjected my husband and my poor dogs to having family portraits taken.
Hubby was less than thrilled and the dogs could've cared less.
This morning I spent more time getting Zoey ready then I spent on my self.
That little Shih-Tzu takes a lot of work....

So after everyone getting baths, Zoey and I being blow dried and styled, Hubby humoring me and sucking it up to take pictures, this was the final choice for our annual Foley Christmas card
Yes the dogs are not looking at the camera but what can you do?
I kept saying we should just look wherever the dogs are looking then we can make it an artsy photo
I also just noticed my belly pooch is looking hot in this picture...
But at least the dogs/Hubby look cute

And on another note
This picture happened
And I totally would've used it on our Christmas cards but my Mother would've been horrified

Also today is December 1st which means No-Beer-November is OVER
(if you follow me on Instagram you'd know that)
I'll admit I slipped up last Saturday and it totally was on accident!
(If you follow me on twitter you'd now that)
We got to our favorite bar to meet some friends and a bucket had already been ordered
And without thinking I just grabbed a beer
I didnt even think twice until i was totally done with it...
So we're just acting like it didnt happen.
Tyler asked me what the date was and started dieing laughing.
I almost cried right there in the middle of the bar.

Ok enough of that rant.

Happy December Everyone!
I'm going to try and post everyday this month
(even if it's just a stupid picture)

Wish me luck!

Oh and on a final note I have to thank my cousin Katie for taking our pictures!
She also took our Engagement pictures and is our photog for life if she likes it or not

That Time my Picture Went Crazy on Facebook

I'm going to start with the backstory

A year ago on Halloween my mothers father (my Papaw) passed away.
I was married on September 24 of last year and he was unexpectedly able to come to my wedding.
I had no idea he was even there till I walked down the aisle.
After the wedding since he was a retired preacher
(well I say retired but the man preached the word of the Lord until the day he passed)
He wanted to pray over Tyler and I and our new marriage.
While all this was going on my photographer Dana Jo captured this moment

Anyways on to Facebook.....
I listen to a monring show here in Charlotte called Ace & TJ.
On Tuesday morning they were talking about wanting to put a picture on facebook to see if they could get 5000 likes.
This picture of Papaw and I sits on my desk and I instantly thought
"I bet that picture could maybe get close to 5000 likes?"
So I emailed it in.
And in all honestly I didnt think they would use it, I figured they would use a picture that was more risque or controversial.
Wednesday morning I got an email from the radio show asking for more details behind the picture.
At 8:20 that morning they announced that the picture they chose was put up...
I went to their facebook page and there it was!

So it begain.....
It got 5000 likes in less then 10 minuets.
At this moment on Sunday morning it is up to over 92,000 likes, over 800 comments and 664 shares.
This is insane to me!
And most of the comements are beautiful testimonies to the power of prayer and God.
Because of the great response they actually had me call into the radio on Thursday morning
Which for me was a dream come true!
If you know me at all you know that I've always wanted to be on the radio.
Even if it was just a short 5 minuet interview it still was AWESOME.
I didnt send in the picture for recognition at all.
I sent it in just to see.
And to be honest my Papaw would be tickled pink knowing his photo was all over facebook.
I mean the man had his cell phone on a necklace that he wore everywhere.
He loved the idea of social media, and technology.
Ok this post has gotten out of hand.
It has just been a crazy week!
But i got to check two things off my bucket list
  • Be "internet famous"
  • Be on the radio

Today I am thankful for the relationship that I had with my Papaw, and that i was lucky enough to have him in my life. That I grew up listening to him preach the Word, and got to learn from his testimony.

In my last post about the furbabies I mentioned that we coupon
So i decided to get you a little insight how this works for us.

My coupon obsession started about a year ago
I bought a cute binder and started buying 4 papers every week
Well we didnt actually really start to coupon until like March of this year
It was more of just a OCD thing for me before that.
I loved the buying the papers, cutting and organizing but I was/am HORRIBLE at matching the coupons with the sale adds.
I just cant do it!
Luckily though Tyler stepped in and is fantastic at working the sale adds!
And I hate going to the grocery store with a passion so now our usual Sunday is Tyler gets up with the dogs then goes to the grocery store alone (which I'm fine with and so is he because he doesnt have to deal with me flipping out in the checkout line because of how much stuff we have in our cart)

So today's example of Hubby's couponing skills
He got all of this for $59
It doesnt look like a lot but its all name brand stuff
4 Grands Biscuits
2 cans of tuna
2 Johnsonville brats
1 Johnsonville sausage
4 chicken breasts
2 packs of cheese
2 Jimmy Dean sausage
4 12 packs of Coke products
4 Cup of Noodles
4 Ramen Noodles
2 boxes of Grape Nuts
hot dog buns
2 dozen large eggs
2 Milos Kitchen dog treats
1 can Hormel tamales

Before sale items/coupons the total was $108, so he saved $50! In my book thats awesome.
Yes it looks like a random assortment of food but we have our fridge/pantry stocked so we basically just buy stuff thats on sale every week. When we first started couponing we were spending $200 every other week but now we spend between $50-$100 every other week normally just buying the essentials and then stuff that's on sale.

So far this year (well like I said since like March) we've saved $1425, and also since we shop at Bi-Lo we get fuel perks (right now we have .15 off every gallon of gas) which is awesome.
And also that doesn't count the money we save going to Walmart/CVS for stuff like shampoo, face wash ect.

So basically Couponing is totally worth it if you're willing to put in some effort. We're not crazy coupon people though! Don't get that idea. I spend maybe 45 minuets on Sunday's cutting and sorting and then Tyler spends maybe 15 minuets getting our shopping list together and then tops an hour at the grocery store. But in my opinion 2 hours of effort is totally worth saving roughly half off our grocery bill every time we Tyler goes shopping!!

Whoa this was an intense boring post...

It really hit me yesterday that Tyler and I truly treat our dogs like our children.
Roxy wouldnt eat her dog food yesterday monring because she knew we were having eggs and bacon, which in turn always means that SHE will be having eggs and bacon
If I was her I wouldn't eat my dry dog food either!

Speaking of food, we had to get the girls dog food yesterday and we spent 15 minuets reading all the ingredients on the different dog foods and ended up buying the most expensive bag of dog food I've ever seen.... It's made with real Bison and is grain free and made with purified water.
This is a big deal!
You're talking to a girl who would rather eat hotdogs because they're on sale and we have coupons then spend the money to eat steak.
But we just spent way to much money on dry dog food.... WITHOUT a coupon!
The fact that Tyler got on board with the ridiculously expensive dog food really suprised me though.
But in his words "They're like our kids... we wouldn't feed our kids crap so why are we feeding our dogs crap"
I'm so glad I turned him into a dog person!!!

On to our little Zoey Chanel...
The child I mean puppy.. is spoiled rotten!!
Every time we let her outside home girl can't be bothered with walking her tiny little butt all the way back in the house by herself.
Instead once she is done doing her business and her sister already has come back in the house, miss priss will sit down, then roll over on her back and just wait to be picked up and brought in the house.

Fall is Here

Since yesterday was the official first day of fall I've started decorating the house

First off I made a burlap wreath
Items needed:
1.Burlap Garland (I couldnt find garland so I made my own, I bought burlap then cut it into 6 inch wide strips)
2.Wire wreath form
3. Fake flowers
4. E6000 glue (best stuff EVER)

After you have the strips (or garland) you just weave it in the wire and poof it out
The bigger the poof the fluffier the wreath will look.
Mine started getting fluffier as I went along so my wreath is kind of lopsided
After I finished the wreath I glued the flowers on to give it a pop of color.
Finished product on our front door
(don't mind the smudges on the glass.. having two dog makes it impossible to keep the glass clean)

I also put up orange lights on our front porch.
It looks like Halloween already but in my book orange is a fall color, not just Halloween

Our neighbors probably think we're cray, but oh well, I think it's cute

Speaking of cute
This little nugget weights 5 pounds now

Also on another note.
Tyler and I went to Festival in the Park last night and there was a woman standing in front of a sign making her husband take pictures of her.... as soon as I saw her I told Tyler that she probably blogs! No other husband would understand having to take 15 different pictures of his wife in front of a sign. Tyler agreed and then thanked me for not making him do that.

I told him "Just wait"
If I start blogging more like I keep saying I'm going to he better get used to taking pictures of me in awkward situations :)

Speaking of Hubby
He cleans up well

Unlike me....

"SD card is full"

I tried to take a picture on Instagram today and that is what it said

Can I just say how much I hate my phone!
I have a Droid X and have had it for a year and a half
Why I didn't just get an Iphone I'll never know

So after that horrible message was displayed I popped off my battery cover to discover....

I have a 2GB SD card

Really 2GB??

So of course as soon as Tyler got home I checked to see how big is SD card is
(he had no clue what I was talking about when I ran up to him saying
"Show me how big your SD card is?!"
which was pretty funny because I swear he was 2 seconds away from dropping trou)

He has a Droid as well but his is about a million years old.
Needless to say I'm very jealous that my Husband has a bigger SD card then me
And I'm now counting down the days until my 2 year upgrade (March 2013)

Or maybe I'll just buy a new SD card?

Yes this is a totally pointless post but I'm irritated to no end

Im done sitting on the couch complaining.
Im done feeling bad about myself when I try to squeeze into my clothes every morning.
Im done being tired all the time.
I'm done making excuses.

Week two of insanity started yesterday. Ill admit last week didn't quite go like it should've. Excuses....

This week its on.

Beginning pictures to come soon.

My blog needs a make over too... which starts with more then one post a month.

Wish me luck :) my 25th year is gonna be a great one and I can't wait to document it!

Long Time No See

I was going to do this big long post about what I've been up to the past 3 months
Instead I'm going to do a short catch up:

Started a new job (love it)
Stood by my best friend on the day she got married
Had new floors put in our house (amazing)

Went to the National White Water Center and had too many panic attacks to count but conquered some serious fears (will never go back though)

Tyler ran his first warrior dash (I watched and keep saying I'll run the next one)

Met the woman who was strong enough to give me up 25 years ago (more about that in a later post)
Went to my first flea market (was totally out of place)
Decided to add another love to our family, Miss Zoey (who we'll get the last weekend in July)

Hiked up a mountain with my husband (and I lived through it!)

And obviously I didn't take enough pictures.
But anyways... Hopefully I'm back and I'll join the world of blogging again, I miss it!

Phone post

Day 9: red Day 10: loud
Lots of red brake lights=Bekah's road rage gettin loud

Thursday, March 8, 2012

Bless her heart

Day 8: Window

This is a window in our den that looks out to our back yard
Looking out our lovely blue blinds you see the wooden stakes for our garden that Tyler is planting
The lamp was hand made by an artist in Maine
It was a wedding gift from my aunt and uncle and I love it

Also I just watched this movie
It was a lot better then I thought it was going to be
And yes I love my Roxy girl but I will one day have a dog small enough to carry in a bag
Side note: that is exactly what I look like when we take road trips...
Roxy has turned into a daddy's girl anyways
Yes she loves her momma too
But she'd choose him over me any day haha

Day 7

Day 7: Something I wore
I have on my sparkle Tom's and ridiculous fabulous pink socks

I think they sum up my personality to a T

Happy Wednesday y'all!

A Minute Late

Day 6: 5pm
This is what my 5pm looked like

I'm sitting at work playing on the internet

I did order a Juicer off Amazon today
It's time to get serious bitches
I'm going to do a juice fast to try and detox my body
I'm already not drinking beer (which sucks) so I should just get all the other crap out of my body too

I watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead today which was good motivation
While I'm not obese, or diabetic, or anything like that I'm just tired all the time and I never feel 100%
I'm 24 years old and feel like I'm 90 which isn't ok

Gah why is my blog turning into a "health" blog
I'm not ok with this at all haha

Ok back to "work"

Catch up

Day 4: Bedside

This is my side of the bed
We need new nightstands because ours are about a foot to short since our bed is 7ft off the ground
Ok only like 3 but its really high
There is a lamp, lotion, coffee, candle, I-pad, and an old cigar box that has random stuff in it from Tyler and I dating (ticket stubs, etc)

Day 5: Smile

This is my half-ass smile
As you can tell I was exhausted
Notice my "buck teeth" from losing my retainer 4 weeks after getting my braces off

Saturday, March 3, 2012

This isn't my neighborhood but this is where Hubby grew up so I figured it could count for Day 3

Oh and I have no idea how to rotate the picture. YAY for phone updates!

What a Fruit

This is now on my I-pad and is going to be read and followedMy "Clean March" is slowly getting into gear

Not that this is a pleasent subject
But my stomach has been doing backflips the last few days and it needs to stop, I'm over it!

And this kinda goes along with Day 2 of the photo challenge

No I didn't take that picture
So sue me
But it's motivation for me

How yummy does that look!!!

Also in other news:
Tyler and I are headed to Virginia tonight and this girl forgot to pack the camera.
Yup... So there goes all my great mountain shots I was planning on taking!

So expect some phone updates which will include bad pictures taken on the Droid.

Man I wish I had an I-phone.

Thursday, March 1, 2012

I don't know what I screwed up but I just realized that my side bar isn't on the side?
It somehow is all down at the bottom of my blog and I have NO CLUE why?

Anyone know how I could've screwed that one up?

Happy March 1 yall!

It is beautiful here in the Queen City!

That is my March 1 picture... "Up"...
Took it while I was driving to work with my sunroof open

I'm so glad spring is almost here!

Let's try this again

Seeing that I 100% failed at the February Photo A Day challenge
maybe March will be more successful?

I'm re-installing Blogger on my phone which might help

Don't hold your breath though

Just sayin

On a brighter note!
I have succeeded in one week beer free!
And in my world that's a big deal!
Only 32 more days (I think I did my math right on that one)

Basically it's Clean March for Bekah
I'm also going to TRY to eat better (cut down on dairy and gluten)
Try being the key word
And I did just realize something....
Since its a leap year, that added an extra day to lent right?
And how cute is the google header for leap year!?!

Sometimes and Always

Today I figured I'd link up with Meg at Mackey Madness

I've been MIA over the weekend and am still totally lost for what to blog about!

This is a great way to cure my blog block :)

Sometimes: I hate that we don't have internet at our house
Always: I'm thankful that I have a great Hubby and Puppy to entertain me instead of sitting with my computer in my lap 24/7

Sometimes: I really wish I knew how to cook
Always: I realize Tyler is a fabulous cook and there is no need for me to learn

Sometimes: It drives me nuts driving a 5 speed in traffic
Always: I get a rush being able to drive like a race car driver on the country roads near my house

Sometimes: Roxy makes me crazy when it's just us at home all day and she barks to go out every 5 minuets then doesn't even pee
Always: I'm so proud when she rings her "potty bell" to go out when she actually needs to go

Sometimes: I say I'm giving up dairy for good (i'm allergic)
Always: I end up at the grocery store buying a block of cheese for no reason

Sometimes: I say I'm done wasting money on Redbox because I always forget to return the movies
Always: I see a movie I just HAVE to see... then keep it for 2 weeks on accident

Puppy Love

So have I mentioned that Hubby is absolutely in LOVE with Roxy?

It's pretty stinkin cute

I'm glad he is such a good puppy-dad
I figure that means he'll be an even better baby-daddy (yup just said that)
At my parents watching the Super Bowl with Roxy and Casper in his lap

Learning how to "lay down"

Massive ears (we think she looks like fox because of her ears)
See what I mean?
Oh and don't google "fox ears" ... It's a bunch of random girls with fake fox ears on??

Giving "kisses"

She is learning really fast and it's mostly from Tyler working with her
They also have this routine called the "food dance"

I'll have to video it
Tyler dances around shaking her food container and Roxy jumps all over the place
For reals it's one of the funniest things ever

And if I try to do the "food dance" Roxy just stares at me because obviously I don't do it right

I'm already that lame mom....
